Touch DISC TARGET select pad and targets appear one at a time on the LCD screen for you to Accept or Reject them. Program your own combination of targets.
Touch PRESET to Reject iron, foil and pull-tabs. Touch Preset again to Reject iron foil, pull-tabs, screw caps and zinc pennies.

The LCD Display emits “arrow” indications for the types of metal being detected. The general categories “GOLD RANGE” and "SILVER RANGE" allow for quick reference when hunting for specific types of metal objects found when detecting. Under these broad categories fall more common types of metal objects found when detecting. These indications may also symbolize many other types of precious metal objects such as gold rings, medallions, tokens, and relics.

The “DEEP TARGET” indication comes up whenever a target is too deep to determine accurate identification.

The Time Ranger operates in every mode and function by touch pad controls. These touch pads are easily accessed by the operator’s thumb or other free hand. Because there is no programming involved, other than selecting or rejecting desired targets, the Time Ranger is a turn-on-and-go- detector. With quick response to the slightest push of the touch pads, automatic modes of operation (by pressing “PRESET”), and no hidden programming, the Time Ranger allows the operator to focus on finding treasure fast and efficiently.

Audio Target Identification

The 3-Tone Audio Discrimination categorizes metal targets under 3 audio output possibilities:

The feature in combination with the Visual Target Identification will minimize digging trash in favor of digging treasure. With an external speaker of the use of stereo headphones, the detectorist always has a solid audio reference that, along with the Visual Target Identification, ensures ease of use in finding treasure.

Special Features

8” SEARCH COIL: The Time Ranger comes standard with the 8” Open-Face System. A versatile and deep-seeking coil that can be used effectively for all types of detecting. This coil may be submersed in water without any effect on the operation of the detector allowing for gold prospecting and shallow water hunting.

GROUND MONITOR: The Time Ranger Ground Monitor emits a constant reference of any soil condition changes which could affect the depth and accuracy of a optimal performance in the “ALL METAL” mode. To do this only requires pushing the “ALL METAL/SMART TRAC” touch pad until the arrow automatically centers.

SMART TRAC: The SMART TRAC automatically ground balances the detector for any type of mineral conditions encountered. Because the Time Ranger has incorporated “SMART TRAC” into its circuitry, the user no longer has to wonder when ever the detector is properly adjusted for ground conditions -- the detector operates at its highest level of sensitivity since it constantly measures the soil for mineralization. A visual display notifies the user when the unit is not balanced and all that is required is the push of the SMART TRAC touch pad to regain maximum sensitivity.

SNIFF MODE: Used for specialized application., the SNIFF mode dedicates the detector to finding or eliminating on particular type of object. Just let the coil “sniff” the desired or undesired object and push ACCEPT or REJECT touch pads to either “accept” or “reject” the target sniffed.

BLANKER: To eliminate surface trash or to only detect deeper older targets, the BLANKER can be used to good effect. You may choose to blank out the surface at a depth of 2 inches or 4 inches -- adjustable by pushing the BLANKER touch pad. BLANKER is “off” when arrow is centered on “zero”.

PRESET: For automatic programming push the PRESET once to eliminate iron and foil; twice to eliminate iron, foil, and pull-tabs; push one more time and rejected items include screw caps and zinc pennies.

PROGRAMMABLE TARGET ID: A truly versatile feature that allows the user to individually select the desired or undesired metal as opposed to the detector deciding for the user. Push the DISC TARGET touch pad and “R’s” will blink until either the ACCEPT or REJECT touch pad is pushed. The “R” stays on when REJECT is pushed’ when ACCEPT is pushed, no “R’s” appear.

IRON DISCRIMINATION BY SIZE: To selectively eliminate iron by 4 sizes hit REJECT up to 4 times while the “R” is blinking under the IRON/FOIL indication.

NUMBERED TARGET VALUES: As an added visual reference to the type of metal being detected, a target value number system is displayed on the LCD. These target values will assist the user in determining further separation between types of metal being detected.

DEPTH CAPABILITY: The Time Ranger was designed to integrate maximum depth capability with accurate performance. There are many factors that influence the depth of a metal detector. The most important include: ease of operation, soil conditions and type of coil. All three of these factors are mastered by the Time Ranger.
