As Minelab Electronics Pty. Ltd. does not manufacture any of their detectors in house directly, all manufacture is sub let out to various contractors. In the past Coiltek have been the manufacturer for all of Minelab's searchcoils and have now released a range of after market coils and covers for the SD 2000 2100 & 2200 series. The coils come with a Coiltek twelve month warranty. Further specifications of some models are shown at the bottom of this page and others will be included as they come to hand from Coiltek.

It should be noted that although the above coils were manufactured to operate on all SD series detectors, it has been found that due to variations in manufacture of the SD 2100 series control boxes sold in Australia at least one  batch of these detectors may have problems ground balancing. For customers who shop personally at Finders (and having the goldfields at the either end of our main street) we have a demo coil of each model available which customers may try before purchase to check that their detector is suitable for these coils.

Coiltek SD 450mm DD Coil

Size:               449mm   (actual)
Weight:         1.593kg  (Gross average)
Colour:         Terracotta
Material:       Luran-s (Ceramic / A.B.S. Composite) 7 year UV stabilized.
Warranty:     12 Months

Advantages:
When used in noisy ground conditions, it is much more stable than normal coils, (especially monoloops). This will allow targets to be heard easier and deeper. It is also much more forgiving on ground balancing it appears to go deeper due to less background noise. Colour reflection is excellent compared to other coils.

Disadvantages:
None. But on quite ground no real advantages but weight is higher than a monoloop by design.

Best Application:
Noisy ground, high mineralisation soils. Salty soils, variable ground.

Coiltek SD 350mm DD Coil

Size:                 352mm (actual)
Weight:           947grams (Gross average)
Colour:          Terracotta
Material:        Luran-s (Ceramic / A.B.S. Composite) 7 year UV stabilized.
Warranty:      12 Months

Advantages:
When used in noisy ground conditions, it is much more stable than normal coils, (especially monoloops). This will allow targets to be heard easier and deeper. It is also much more forgiving on ground balancing it appears to go deeper due to less background noise. Colour reflection is excellent compared to other coils. Lighter than that of the 450mm coil with better response to small gold.

Disadvantages:
None. But on quite ground no real advantages but weight is higher than a monoloop by design. Will not go quite as deep as the 450mm but is still very effective.

Best Application:
Noisy ground, high mineralisation soils. Salty soils, variable ground.
