Fisher Research Laboratory is selling an easy-to-use, low-cost, high-quality metal detector called the 1212-X.
The 1212-X is similar in appearance to the extremely popular Fisher 1210-X metal detector, but the circuitry is new, the search coil is shielded to reduce false signals and it's more sensitive. The single on-off Trash Rejection knob allows the operator to search for all metals or ignore small pieces of metallic trash and still find coins, jewelry and other valuable items.
Operating on a single, 9-V battery, the 1212-X weighs only 2.9 lbs. and comes equipped with an 8-inch waterproof search coil, cushioned arm rest, headphone jack and built-in speaker. The Fisher's 1212-X is protected by the same patent covering other Fisher "X" detectors.
