Another Large Gold Nugget find

11th. January 1998 -- Today a Visiting couple of prospectors showed us the gold nugget shown above. They told us that they found the nugget last November in the Meekatharra area in flat open country near a ironstone outcrop at a depth of approximately 4 inches. The nugget above weighed 26 ounce 12 pennyweights and they told us that they also found a 15 ounce, a 4 ounce, a 1.3 ounce, 5 nuggets about 1 ounce and some smaller nuggets in the same area making a total of 54 ounces in total. The area where they were working at the time had daytime temperatures of 45º - 46º and the coolest night time temperature was 33º Celsius.
