Maryborough prospector's Gold find
Side 1. -- Weight - 2ozs. 14 dwts. 15grs. -- Side 2.
22nd. August 1999 -- The same Maryborough customer as mentioned in the previous press release brought his most recent find in to show us today. The specimen nugget shown above was found on some old diggings at Waanyarra which had been dozed by a previous prospector. The nugget was approximately 12 inches deep and our customer tells us that he knows that others found at least 4 ounces ranging in size from 2 grains up to 18 pennyweights. The ground was flattened out mullock heaps which had obviously been detected hurriedly by the original prospector leaving behind good gold for those that followed him.
