Local prospecting couple's Gold find

24th. August 1999 -- A local prospecting couple found the gold nugget shown above and below just a few days ago. The nugget was found within the Tarnagulla Goldfield 10 inches deep in a heavily worked area. He said that the nugget had amazingly been half dug out by a previous operator and rejected as rubbish. Our lucky finder detected over the partly dug hole and thought it sounded good enough to check out. The nugget weighed 19 ounces 8 pennyweights 13 grains.
