Prospector's Gold specimen find

6th. April 2000 -- A prospectors found the gold nugget shown above in the Whipstick goldfields approximately six weeks ago. When found the nugget had a considerable amount of quartz bonded to it which the finder has removed with acid. The area of the find was in open bush land and the nugget was found lying in an old mullock heap. The total weight of the nugget after the acid cleaning as shown above is now 3 ounces 12 pennyweights.
