Prospectors club outing find

9th. October 2000 -- The gold nugget shown above was found yesterday Sunday 8th. October on a Sunbury Detector Club outing to Avoca. The nugget which weighed 5 ounces 9 pennyweights 15 grains was lying in virgin soil near some diggings on a gentle slope and was approximately 12 inches deep in wash. The finder was using a SD2000 with an 8 inch mono coil.
