29th. October 2000 -- This gold nugget which weighed 3 ounces 8 pennyweights was found by a visiting prospector who is new to the hobby. The nugget was found in the Maryborough - Dunolly area and the prospector found it at a depth of 4 to 5 inches in rich red clay using an SD2100 with a 11 inch "DD" coil. The area was flat open ground just off the side of old diggings. This was the first time out with his detector.
