Local Dunolly Prospector's find

28th. November 2000 -- This gold nugget which weighed 7 ounces 2 pennyweights was found by a local Dunolly prospector. It was found in semi treed bushland at a depth of 2 feet. The ground consisted of red clay and gravel. The area had been looked at by the early miners but no extensive work had been undertaken by them. It was found with an SD2100e with a Coiltek prototype 18" open web DD coil.
