Gold found by Maryborough Prospector

27th. January 2001 -- The gold nuggets which weighed a total of 13 ounces were found by a local Maryborough prospector using an SD2200 and a 11" coil. The gold was found near an old lead in ground consisting of red clay & quartz wash in open bushland. It was lying at a depth of between 6 inches and 1 foot. The individual weights are - (1) 6 ounces 9 pennyweights - (2) 3 ounces 5 pennyweights - (3) 2 ounces 8 pennyweights - (4) 18 pennyweights.
