Found by Two Local Prospectors

29th. April 2001 -- This gold nugget which weighed 3 ounces 8 pennyweights was found by two local prospectors within 5 Kilometres of Dunolly. The nugget was found in very hot ground at a depth of 20 inches using an SD2200D fitted with a 19 inch DD searchcoil. The terrain was slightly undulating with heavy scrub covering. 3 smaller pieces were found around it with the largest nugget being approximately 4 pennyweights.
