Found by another Local Prospector

9th. May 2001 -- This gold nugget which weighed 3 ounces 18 pennyweights was found in the local Dunolly Goldfields by a resident professional prospector. It was found near some old surfacing prior 1900's in open bushland. It was lying at a depth of approximately 18 inches in red clay with some small amounts of quartz and iron stone throughout the clay. The detector used was an SD2200D with a 18 inch Coiltek DD searchcoil. The finders says it was just a signal and at first he walked away but luckily something inside turned him back for another look.
