Bealiba
Bealiba was originally known as Cochranes, today the local creek and one of the main streets still bear the name. Although Bealiba was one of the early gold rush towns and later a busy industrial and service centre for the gold miners today it is one of the smaller townships in the Central Goldfields region. Ideal for that quite getaway.Carisbrook
The township of Carisbrook was created in 1851 on the junction of the Tullaroop Creek now Deep Creek and Mount Greenoch Creek, now McCallum Creek. Gold mining came to Carisbrook in 1869 when the Dan O'Connell mine was opened, the first of some 20 deep lead mines around the town.Clunes

Dunolly
With a population of approximately 600 residents and being situated some 25 kilometres north of Maryborough, the township of Dunolly is the foremost destination of both the serious gold prospector and the more casual detector operator. The close surrounding public forest regions have been the source of many major gold finds in the past, and still the finds continue.Majorca

With a population of approximately 8,000 residents Maryborough is one of the larger towns in Central Victoria and is a reliable source for all visitor needs.Moliagul
Although the township is one of the smaller hamlets in the district today much significant history is to be found here. The Welcome Stranger gold nugget (the largest ever to have been found in the world to date) was found here and the Rev. John Flynn "The Flying Doctor" was born here. Talbot
