Dunolly is a delightful small Australian country town situated in the Central Goldfields region of the State of Victoria just twenty five kilometres north of Maryborough. Being located in the heart of the famous Golden Triangle the township has a stable population of some 600 residents and is very popular with gold prospectors as the surrounding goldfields have long been the home of the worlds largest Gold Nugget finds. In its heyday of the 1850's and 60's it was a large metropolis with a population of more than 35,000 people who in one way or another were attracted to the area by the lure of gold.
