Moliagul
Famed for the quantity and size of gold nuggets found in the area.Moliagul is a small Australian country town situated 60km west of Bendigo in the Central Goldfields region of Victoria. Centrally located within the Golden Triangle it is most famous as the home of the world's largest gold nugget find - The Welcome Stranger. It was also the birth place of the Rev. John Flynn founder of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Inland Mission.

The site of the discovery of the Welcome Stranger nugget is only 2km from the Mount Moliagul Hotel. There is a discovery walk of 15-20 minutes at the reserve, also a picnic ground with shelter, drinking water and barbecues available. In bloom the the rough wattle, bitter pea and orchids are best seen from August to October.
